Single 4-min. .jpeg edited in iPhoto. 35mm Olympus Zuiko f/2.8 at f/4 with Tiffen double fog 3 filter, Canon 450DM (Baader cut-off) at ISO 1600, CWB (gray card), Astronomik CLS clip-in filter all on AstroTrac TT320X. Colors are off, but there's not a lot one can do in iPhoto, which isn't PS!!

The crescent waxing Moon, two days past new, M45, and Mercury. Taken 4/26/09 with Canon 450DM and Olympus Zuiko 135mm prime at f/11 for 5 seconds. On tripod. South Carolina pine trees in lower right showing the effects of windy conditions. Actual image with no cropping or processing.

Olympus Zuiko OM 135mm f/2.8 at f/4 on Canon 450DM on AstroTrac at sidereal tracking rate. 130 20-sec subs preprocessed and stacked in Nebulosity. Post processing in levels/stretch in Neb. Image severely cropped and saved as .jpg as shown. Short sub times necessary because of sky shine from urban/suburban area and last quarter Moon.

Comet Lulin, morning of 2/6/09. Setup - Canon 200mm, f/2.8L; Canon 450DM, ISO 1600, Astronomik CLS clip filter. On Manfrotto 410 head on TT320X tracking at sidereal rate. All on Voyager. Forty subs varying from 15 to 60 sec. stacked and processed in Nebulosity. Final touchup in iPhoto. Lulin's head is green from the reaction of cyanogen molecules with sunlight. Zubenelgenubi (Libra) is double star below head. A big THANK YOU to Gain Lee for recommendations on how to image Lulin!!
