The final tabloid cover I created and the one I fussed over the most. I had to give Cloud quite an extensive makeover to get him into proper GQ covermodel shape - clothes, hair, makeup - the works - and I sacrificed a nice layout design to get the "15 Minutes of Fame" title where it is.

Technically speaking, this cover gave me the most trouble. What you see in the AMV is actually four different versions of this tabloid, made because of the demands the "effects" I was using placed on it . It's an excellent example of the amount of work that went on behind the scenes to make all my graphics look like they were supposed to on a 30' projector screen.

The simplest of my tabloid covers - on purpose - Time magazine loves to do this kind of layout. Originally this was a "60 Minutes (70 minutes)" promo commercial spot, but that got the axe when I set about streamlining the AMV. The artwork actually does not include Denzel - it was just overlaid on the video footage, I froze a frame of the clip and then added some effects.

The second of my two Ghostbusters ads - both created to look very cheesy and amateurish. I also used promo art for this image - that's Cloud trying to sell a Panasonic phone (yes, the one he uses in the movie is for sale, it also comes in a few other colors, this one's called "Cloud Black" - I'm not kidding.) The "Fast Service Guaranteed" is a gag whose punchline shows up on the AMV Today cover.

A parody of The Daily News. After Sephiroth's cover story, this is one of the earliest concept "pieces" for this AMV (for lack of a better way to describe it). It's what I had in mind when I sat down to begin working on this project.

One of the two Ghostbusters ads I created, both heavy on the cheese. I was desperate to get "Ghostbustersword" into this AMV and it took me a long time to figure out how - the gag took awhile to set up and you really have to be paying attention to "get it" when this ad comes on screen. As a side note, this is the only shot from Advent Children in which you can see the Buster Sword straight-on.

The Sum

More headlines of the day - at some point this AMV will really, really date itself. This cover features stills from Crisis Core and parodies The Sun. It is the largest of all the covers I created because of the extreme size it winds up being on screen - about three times the resolution (think pixels) of all my other graphics - and it is still never shown at full size in the AMV.

Good luck figuring out where I stand on certain political issues based on this tabloid, a parody of the defunct Globe. It's worth bearing in mind that I was out to "get" anyone I could with this AMV, the gloves were off (no pun intended).

National Inquirer

Since Kadaj gets absolutely no screentime in this AMV, Loz and Yazoo are in the spotlight. I am particularly proud of the "MPT" part of this tabloid, which parodies The National Enquirer and features two stills from Dirge of Cerberus.

New Pork Post

For the most part, the tabloids were created in the order in which they appear in the AMV, so this was the first one I made and it's still my favorite. The shot of Sephiroth here does not appear in Advent Children - as far as I can tell it's taken from a short time after his fiery scene closes out. How'd I get the image, then? This is Square-Enix promo art. The cover parodies the New York Post.

My announcement poster for 'Bustin, which I was so pleased with that I turned it into the intro for my entire AMV. It mimics the designs of several of the original Ghostbuster movie posters.
